The company behind Algoma's Water Tower Inn has been an icon of Northern Ontario hospitality since 1962. The enterprise, independently owned and managed by the Hilsinger family, started with a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise that quickly expanded to five locations.
The Inn, constructed in 1974, was Sault Ste, Marie's first modern, full-amenity hotel and a welcome and popular dining and social venue. Since then, the 180-room Inn has undergone major innovations, additions, natural landscaping and luxury renovations that today position it as the hospitality and conference destination of choice in the region.
